Soliris is biologic therapy that is indicated for treating
Soliris inhibits certain immune proteins called complement.
It is used to reduce hemolysis in patients with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), inhibit complement-mediated thrombotic microangiopathy in patients with atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS) and reduce the activity of complement at the muscle surface in patients with anti-AchR+ gMG myasthenia gravis.
Soliris is also used to treat neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) in adults.
Soliris infusions are received weekly for five weeks and then every two weeks thereafter.
In adults the infusion sessions typically last 35 minutes, while in children the infusion sessions are between 1 and 4 hours in duration.
