Benlysta is a biologic infusion therapy that treats active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE or “Lupus”) in patients who are receiving other medicines for lupus.
Benlysta works by reducing certain cells in the immune system that can make lupus more active. Benlysta is the first lupus treatment approved by the U.S. FDA in over 50 years.
Benlysta treatments are given every two weeks for the first three infusion sessions and then once every four weeks therafter, with each infusion treatment lasting about 60 minutes.
